Home

Welcome to Grassy Patch Farm and Rabbitry located in Wilsonville, Oregon.  Our farm is home to a small collection of Soay sheep, Californian rabbits, and Blanc de Hotot rabbits.

About Soay Sheep:

Our registered American/British Soay sheep are part of a small population of the rare Soay breed in North America.  Grassy Patch Farm is home to mouflon Soay, black Soay, and even a chocolate Soay ewe!

Soay sheep are a small breed of sheep ideal for small acreages.  They are wonderful for clearing brush and pasture mowing, providing wool and meat, and for the pleasure of keeping a flock of sheep.  Ewes average 50 pounds, and rams average 65 pounds. Their small size allows for easy care and keeps erosion to a minimum.  They shed their wool naturally each year, and they are born with short tails (no tail docking).

About American Rabbits:

American rabbits are a heritage breed of meat rabbit that is in critical danger of extinction - they are the rarest of the rare rabbit breeds.  We have two junior does (Blue Americans), and we will be adding a buck to our herd in early 2009.

About Blanc de Hotot Rabbits:

Blanc de Hotot (pronounced "blonk day owe-toe") rabbits are a beautiful, threatened breed of meat rabbit.  We will be working to promote and improve this endangered breed.

About Californian Rabbits:

Our small, growing herd of purebred Californian rabbits is adding diversity and production ability to our small farm.  Our goal is to breed our rabbits to the breed standard, continuously improving our herd.
